I may whine and complain a lot about the way things happen in Hanover, but I really liked to see this recently.
The … proposed budget, however, would hold real-estate taxes steady, with no millage jump for residents.
This makes nine straight years which Hanover has not raised property taxes. They have done a good job focusing revenue growth in the water and sewer areas, which have been the ones driving higher costs for the most part.
Only a handful of York County boroughs have higher tax rates so I like seeing Hanover staying with its means. Let’s hope this trend continues for a while. I know I piss and moan about changes I think they should bring to recycling and trash service, but I only want that if they hold or lower taxes.
