More Friday Fun
I was in a bit of a hurry when I wrote my last post (getting vulgarly insulted by a borough councilman can get a person distracted) and forgot some of the other things going on around town on Black Friday.
First off, the Chamber is holding a Holidaze Scramble, an Amazing-Race style event which will take people through downtown Hanover looking for clues. More info (and info on the bike decorating and Shop Around Downtown event) is here.
So you have a game, some discounts and something for the kids downtown this week. What else can you ask for?
A national effort to support small business, that’s what. American Express is sponsoring Small Business Saturday. If you register your card and use it for $25 or more at a participating small business, you can get a $25 statement credit. You do need to register and it’s not guaranteed, but even if it gets people thinking about shopping locally, it’s a great idea.
So there’s really no reason not to go to downtown Hanover or wherever your favorite small business is and do some shopping.
