It Means “the Rodeo”
I had the good fortune of hitting a jar at my favorite club over the weekend and decided to spend some of my winnings on a dinner out Saturday night. I let my wife choose, and she picked El Rodeo.
We had not been there for a year. I remember having dinner there for my birthday last August, but we have done most of our Mexican dining at Gallitos on Eisenhower Drive or Tacos Y Tortas Dona Mary downtown.
I liked spreading the wealth a little, and we had a really good experience. My wife and I both had enchiladas (although different kinds) which were very good. The portion was just right – I was full, but didn’t have leftovers or feel like the plate was meant for two. We had fantastic service and the bill for all three of us (my daughter just went for grilled cheese) was just over $25. So I have a lot of my winnings left to spend on other things.
Sometimes when I drive by places like this, restaurants we only go to once or twice a year, I wonder if they have enough business to stay open. Since a party of 30 parents and kids from a local youth soccer team started to take over the dining room as we left (and the rest of the place was pretty full, I think we will have El Rodeo to enjoy for a while longer.
i just need to make a note to not wait a whole year until our next visit.
